Little Girls, Little Girs......

Can i just take a small moment to let you all know that i have the most adorable little cousins in the ENTIRE WORLD? No, no mine are cuter...

Saturday i woke and was documenting my life in my journal, wondering what i should do on account of the fact the i had very little HW for the weekend. I thought of my little buddy cousin Emmie Owen. My heart goes out to that sweet girl for having eight nappy little boys in and out of her house bugging her all day. That is Riley and Big TIMES FOUR! I know she loves them, but i thought it would be fun to have some "grown-up girl bonding time" with her fabulously wise and super cool older cousin - ME! JUST KIDDING - really I just missed her and i always loved playing with MY older cousin Ellie when she would come to visit Pa and Grandma Jean while i was growing up.

I drove to Sandy and picked Emmie up for a Girls Day Out. We first shared a Cafe Rio Salad - SHE WANTED TO EAT THERE I SWEAR, i had absolutely NO say in the matter. Then we got some sweet pedicures. I am becomeing such a fan of festive, bright nail polish that stands out. I am done with the conversitve French Nails that go with everything. Marshmellow Mermiad Pie and Midnight Sparkle a few of my new favorite. You can thank Steph and Ali for that. After our pedicures, Em dragged me into Debb and made me try on all these silly formal dresses. This was not quite as fun as i remembered it being three years ago......hmmmm. YES EMMIE THEY MAKE DRESSES IN A SIZE 10/12! : D I just kept telling myself that they are mostly gone because that is the normal size that most normal people fit in....keep dreaming Kate. At least i still fit in them right? OK, so we were at SouthTown Mall and you know what that means - WE RODE THE CAROUSEL! Why the lady taking the tickets looked at me funny i will never know. "YES. I am 20. YES. I want to ride the horse adorned with flowers and awesome jewels on the merry-go-round. YES. THAT EXACT HORSE! I rode it all the time when i was little. DEAL WITH IT" We had ice cream and watched a movie and overall it was an awesome day.

Monday i decided i would pay David and Tara and little visit. Samatha wanted to go to the park and her large brown eyes just melted my heart, so i caved. That little girl is so adorable. Her vivid imagination makes me smile. Just taking her to the park made her little day. I almost threw up after she spun me on the tire swing, nearly broke my leg after having a jumping off the swing contest with her, and landed in a huge vat of water at the end of the slide. I LOVED IT! I hope i can find joy in the little things i love in life, like going to the park for Sam.

I cant wait to be a mom and do fun things with my kids. For now, my cousins will do. THEY ARE THE BEST! I love my huge, dysfunctional family and would not have it any other way. I can't imagine life without them.

A little Love...

HELLO WORLD! OK, so last week was basically CRAP.  I had three midterms and two papers due. It was just one of those dumb weeks where everything falls into the same time slot for school, you know? I HATE those weeks.  Everything turned out just dandy. Test went well and i am done with round Uno of midterms. YAY FOR ME! SO HAPPY!
My Valentine's was kind of lame to start off with.  I had to take my final test of the week, which was this KILLER Humanities 202 test so i spent the majority of the day studying for and taking the dang test.  I AM SO HAPPY IT IS OVER! I did receive a fabulous V-Day package from the best Parents ever created with all my fav candies, some sweet new sweats, a couple of books, and a movie : D LOVE MY FAMILIA! ANYWAYS after i came home from taking my test around 5:00 Stephanie and I decided that we should not wa
ste a good date night just because we don't have a man to fawn over us and adorn us with gifts.  We were each others Valentine.  We saw "He's Just Not That Into You..." It had its moments of brilliance...and its moments of epic fail. I would say it was pretty mediocre.  Then we came home and stuffed our faces with chocolate and the most amazing cookies EVER thanks to Steph's amazing mother.  Stephanie also bought me a moodring! How romantic right? I KNOW! I have always wanted one.  SUCCESS!
Sunday was Stake Conference.  We got a new Stake President who just happens to be the son of President Monson. I really liked him.  Anybody who quotes Seinfeld in church is OK by me.  Ali was with her family all weekend and Jaimie went to church with Sean. Bri had to work and Becky was having friends over so i thought it would be an opportune time to visit my family in SLC.  Stephanie and I headed down to Grandma's house and it was fantastic.  She fed us a wonderful dinner and we played with the little McLay children.  Sara and Abbey came to visit and i beat their little butts in Phase 10.  It was a good day.
Monday was The Day of Mental Health.  I have been needing a Mental Health Day for a while so stephanie and i decided to do things that we love...here
is a list of all the awesome things we did...
* went to the temple
* Got all dolled up
* Went to Toys R Us and played with all the fun toys
* Cafe Rio Lunch
* Saw Confessions of a Shopoholic
* Went to ShopKo
* Colored a Princes Picture
* Painted our nails/ rubbed each others hands and feet
 It was a much needed break and fun to do absolutely NOTHING but fun stuff for once.  I hope you all had a happy heart day and that you spent it with someone you love, even it is is your silly roommate whom you absolutely adore instead of a handsome prince charming.  I am so lucky to have so many people in my life who love me.
